"SUNDOWNERS WITH...TANZANIA" EVENT IN LONDON PROVES A SUCCESS

 

After the first of Kamageo’s “Sundowners with...” events, we are pleased to report the success of the format. This inaugural session was hosted by H.E. High Commissioner – Dr. Asha-Rose Migiro. Held at the High Commission in Central London, a small ensemble of leading tour operators (including Audley, Cox & Kings, Timeless Africa, Somak and Expert Africa) and national press journalists expressed contrasting views, suggested ideas and generally debated tourism to Tanzania.

 

Topics included visa applications, the southern circuit, the canopy walk in Manyara, the cable car on Kilimanjaro and the marketing of the Great Migration, amongst many others. Kamageo sadly confirmed the imminent end of the TANTOO project, but it was clear that there is a need for tourism representation on an on-going basis for Tanzania in the UK.

Jonny May, Africa product manager at Audley captured the mood perfectly, “As tour operators we want clarity of information and the rationale behind tourism related decisions so we can pass this on to our clients”.
